Mataranka and Bitter Springs area
From Daley Waters we went to Mataranka. Stayed 2 nights there. Beautiful clear tepid water wells up from a spring underground, and flows down into a pool with concrete steps and seating. wWe decided to go to the pools after a couple of beers in the pub, that night. The path to pools was dotted with solar lights, but the pools were very dark. We had the whole place to ourselves, apart from the bats that flew over us. Amazing experience. Stars everywhere.
Did an 8km walk to a waterfall along a croc infested river, and never saw one of them.

Awesome guys - the journey continues, and you look so happy to be doing it. Kate will be over the moon to see you both. Safe travels guys. Good to see you are getting the odd cold one along the way Alex. We here in NZ have just had about 2 weeks of good sunny weather - right in the middle of winter. Cold nights, but so good to see the sun each day. We have been lucky. But thats about to end tomorrow with rain forecast for the rest of the week. Enjoy your meandering you lucky B@%tards.
